Finland took down team USA 3-2 behind goals from Kaapo Kakko, Jesse Ylonen and Otto Latvala scored for Finland.
Sasha Chmelevski, Josh Norris scored for Team USA in the loss.
Kaapo Kakko scored the game winner, with 1:26 remaining, showing off his methodical game and athleticism, giving all the scouts in attendance a good taste of what he will bring at the next level for whoever might end up drafting him second overall.
Chmelevski was a big player for the Americans today in the final, scoring the first goal to get the USA on the board, with Norris following it up not long after. He played exceptionally hard, and brings a lot of the intangibles that the Sharks organization saw in him when they drafted him
Outside of the three goal scorers, Rasmus Kupari was an excellent player for the Fins in the win. He’s drawn comparisons to Sebastian Aho, and it’s easy to see why. he has a lot of skill and speed that is something that will be used to its fullest for the Kings.
Ukko Pekka Luukonen was a big player for the Fins in goal, saving 25 of 27 shots in the win. He showed good patience in net and stayed calm and collected when the team needed him to be most. The Buffalo Sabres have a good one for the future in Luukonen.
