Emilio Pettersen- Denver- Pettersen is the leading scorer on a team that’s coming off back to back losses against the No. 2 team in the country in St. Cloud State. What’s next up on the docket for the Pioneers after that? Oh yeah, playing the No. 1 team in the country at home, Minnesota Duluth. Denver is going to need great play from their stud freshman if they want a chance to either sweep, or get one of two against the Bulldogs.
Adam Scheel- North Dakota- Scheel has been fantastic this year thus far, sporting a 5-2 record with a 1.70 GAA. He has a great opportunity this weekend to keep up his hot start, with a win, possibly two over Western Michigan.
Zach Driscoll, Henry Johnson- Bemidji State- Yes, I get it, more goalies, but these two guys have been a massive reason why the Beavers are off to a 5-2-1 record. Driscoll has a 2-1-1 record with a 0.98 GAA, and Johnson has a 3-1-0 record with a 1.25 GAA. They get scoring all around, but these two guys are going to have to be great for them to get a win or two against the No. 2 team in the country.
Taro Hirose- Michigan State- Michigan State has found themselves at 4-4-0 after a 4-1 start, having lost three in a row, (one to to Ferris State and two to Arizona State.) The Spartans have a tough task at home this weekend against Notre Dame. Hirose currently leads the Spartans in scoring, with 14 points through the teams first eight games.
David Cotton- Boston College- Don’t look now, the Eagles have won three in a row, and are looking to extend that streak behind David Cotton’s fantastic play. He leads them in points (8G-4A) and has been the veteran presence this team has needed to get things back on track. They face New Hampshire this weekend, a team they’ve beaten seven times in a row.
